Highly credentialed, extensively experienced and naturally talented, Zehra Keller has been a property professional all her working life. With residential experience supplemented by time in commercial real estate, Zehra has a uniquely well-rounded background – managing everything from high-density apartments, to high-end beachside homes, as well as industrial, professional and retail properties of all sizes and sectors. “In addition to diverse practical experience, I’m also fortunate to have worked in a Trust Accounting role,” says Zehra. As a “hands-on” manager I was routinely responsible for portfolios of 300 properties. In Trust Management I covered every aspect of reporting and financial management. For my clients, that means I’ve seen done, and will manage it all! No two days as a property manager are the same – whether it’s marketing to new tenants, establishing contracts, following up on maintenance or solving tenancy disputes, there’s always the satisfaction of a challenge met or a problem solved.” But it’s how Zehra goes about meeting these challenges that shows her skill. “The interests of my landlords come first and foremost. I believe in a strong, fair and pro-active approach,” she says. “Every day I am negotiating on behalf of my landlords to prevent issues escalating into conflict. Experience at VCAT is never a positive thing. A good manager will stand firm and achieve the desired outcome well before an issue heads to Tribunal.” It’s no surprise then that after a day negotiating on behalf of her landlords, Zehra’s idea of relaxation is a quiet time with family. Time away from work involves a run of basketball with her two Primary school aged children, entertaining and catching up with family and friends. Getting away is also high on Zehra’s priorities. With family in the United States and a favourite holiday destination in Hawaii, Zehra is always keen to balance a dedicated working life with overseas travel!
